Augmented Reality in Education: Unveiling the Present and Shaping the Future of Active Learning
This two-hour session was designed specifically for teachers interested in exploring the transformative potential of augmented reality (AR) and related technologies in education. We will examine the existing technologies in this domain and discuss their potential impact on teaching. We will present practical examples of AR applications in various scientific areas and how they can be developed, inside and outside the classroom, using different platforms. We will also discuss the future trends of AR technologies and their potential to shape the future of active learning.

Innovative Teaching with App-Free and Web-Based Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that superimposes digital information on a physical object or environment, enhancing how it's perceived. It has gained importance in education because of its ability to engage students' curiosity and interest. AR can be used to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences by adding digital elements while maintaining the interaction between students, teachers, and the real world. Cost and accessibility of AR devices and software has decreased significantly, and many students today carry advanced mobile devices with built-in AR functionality. This workshop will introduce participants to the possibilities of AR in education and share ideas for integrating it into classroom practice. Participants will learn how AR can be used to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences, as well as suggestions for methodological integration in an educational context.

The xR-EDUM has organically emerged from the need to share ideas, methodologies, and overcome challenges related to the application of technologies known as xR in teaching. xR is an umbrella term for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The members of this community recognize the revolutionary potential these technologies can have in promoting successful learning. They share the avant-garde vision of using xR effectively in an educational context, complementing active teaching approaches and promoting meaningful learning for their students.
Digital technologies will continue to revolutionize the way we live and learn. In particular, xR technologies are currently being used in top schools worldwide to enhance student learning. The requirements for these approaches range from a simple smartphone or tablet to VR/AR glasses with integrated haptic accessories. These new technologies empower teaching and learning methodologies and offer vast opportunities to expand reality and increase simultaneous interaction between people, real objects, and digital ones.
Embark on a virtual journey through our gallery, where you'll discover a growing collection of AR/VR 3D models and ideas to enrich learning sessions. Each model offers a unique opportunity to engage students. Experience the future by utilizing our AR/VR 3D models, powered by the most advanced AR technologies.
Test if your devices work with the latest AR technologies:
Tropical Dragon (Android)
Tropical Dragon (iPhone, iPad)
We designed the Tropical Dragon to reflect the uniqueness and vibrancy of tropical flora and fauna. You can use it with your students to stimulate creativity and imagination and trigger reflections on the need to respect and appreciate the natural world.
The illusion of AR is richer when using the latest technology that is compatible with leading Android and iOS devices, as well as sophisticated headsets. However, don't worry if you don't have access to these devices. We've worked to ensure that our AR activities are accessible through JavaScript, guaranteeing compatibility with a wide range of student phones balancing accessibility and innovation.
You can create simple AR activities that are only need a browser and a camera and can be explored on any phone, tablet or laptop:
